Crystal Stone Obituary

On Sunday February 4, 2024, beloved daughter, sister, Aunt, cousin, and friend, Crystal D. Stone made her transition from this life to live an eternal life with our heavenly father.  Crystal was born on April 19, 1957 and raised by her mother Nelda Della-Mae Stone (pre-deceased), grew up in Louisville, KY, where she was educated in the Louisville KY school system.  After graduating high school, Crystal attended and graduated from the University of KY, where she earned her Bachelors in Nursing.

Crystal had a strong passion for nursing and she loved being a nurse. She worked as an RN at the Louisville University Hospital, and throughout her nursing career she worked at other various hospitals, and nursing homes.  Later upon relocating to the DC metropolitan area, Crystal worked with the Red Cross and with special needs patients.  Crystal was a very compassionate caregiver, often times going beyond her call of duty, always giving beyond 100%.

Crystal was very generous and thoughtful with a kind and gentle spirit, friendly and outgoing, she never met a stranger.  She was an avid reader who loved to read a variety of books, novels, and repair manuals; to include Science fiction, health, and DYI.  She was a good cook, a Dallas Cowboys fan, and Crystal loved her music. To name a few, she enjoyed the old Motown groups and her favorite gospel was I’m going to the rock.  She also enjoyed, watching movies and playing video games.

Crystal was blessed with a loving family who all loved her dearly.  She will be greatly missed by all her family and friends who have solace in knowing she is embraced and resting in the arms of our Lord and Savior.  May the memory of Crystal, her laugh, her words, her smile, live on in our hearts forever.

Crystal leaves to cherish her loving memory: Three brothers; George W. Stone Jr. (Teresa), Jacque S. Stone, and Theophilus A. Stone (JoAnne); Three nephews; George III, Avrom, and Makarai Stone; and a host of other loving relatives and friends.  Crystal is predeceased by her parents; George Sr. & Nelda Della-Mae Stone, and her sister Antonia Stone.
